As it turns out, the medical and equipment supplies from China to India are mostly being done between companies as New Delhi and Beijing are yet to open a government-to-government route for such dealings.
India is yet to even officially acknowledge China’s offer of help, which was first made by the Chinese foreign ministry through a media briefing last week.
Friday’s update from the foreign ministry came a day after state councilor and foreign minister Wang Yi promised external affairs minister, S Jaishankar, that China will do the utmost in supporting India’s fight against current outbreak in India at a faster pace.
In a letter to Jaishankar, Wang said that the Chinese side “shares empathy for the challenges facing India and expresses sincere sympathy”.
Wang said many sections of Chinese society have taken action to collect material to send to India and to “deliver them to the Indian people as soon as possible”.
According to statistics provided by Wang, since April, China has exported more than 26,000 ventilators and oxygen generators, more than 15,000 monitors, and nearly 3,800 tons of medical materials and medicines to India.
China’s relevant anti-epidemic material and medical equipment companies are working hard, working overtime, and speeding up production, Wang said, adding that over the next few days, more anti-epidemic resources will continue to be sent to India to support its anti-epidemic efforts. - UP: 7

The Indian situation is a bit of a concern here I think, but after the efficient way in which China handled the situation early last year and the procedures they put in place (such as the Alipay health code) I feel safer here than anywhere else. If there were to be a resurgence here I feel confident with the existing measures in place it would be possible to stem any potential spread quite quickly. Those who complain about their rights and refuse to wear masks or social distance are (through their selfishness) partly responsible for the difficulty countries like the US, UK, Brazil and India have had in controlling the spread, refusing to wear masks, not social distancing and poor hygiene have increased the infections dramatically. Most Asian countries are already comfortable with wearing masks as they have had previous viruses to overcome such as SARS and MERS, so it was an easy sell for most Asian citizens to wear masks for protection of themselves and others. Like you I haven't been vaccinated, here it is kind of hard to get done as there are limited spots available and they book up very quickly, however I'm not worried as I feel very safe here. My Chinese wife will get her second vaccination on Sunday. - UP: 15
