A good leader surrounds himself with people that are smarter and more educated than himself on all sorts of topics ... Trump thinks he's the smartest person in the world and that reality will bend to his will.
Shadow2882
Exactly, Biden may not be the smartest guy but he will choose advisors that are really smart in their field and listen to their advise

Did you watch Biden’s town hall? He commands surprising intellect and factual recall, he’s just not quick on his feet. I was honestly impressed by his town hall
Shadow2882
Nah haven't gotten around to it. I'm not trying to say that Biden isn't smart, he is. But he will surround himself with experts in multiple fields and will listen to them

The best way to put it is, Biden has a shallow but wide depth of knowledge. That means when an expert tells him information he is able to understand what he is being told and ask intelligent questions.

Jack of all trades, master of none.
I’ve been owning that phrase for decades.

Meanwhile Trump needs an abridged version of a coloring book just to get through the intelligence briefing

Biden was thoughtful, took his time to really answer questions, and very much understood his priorities. Everybody should watch it.

The republicans have done an amazing job at portraying Biden as being a bumbling idiot, so much so that some people who are voting for him actually believe this.
On the rare occasion I hear this comment in real life I ask if they've ever actually listened to him speak outside of Fox News clips...
DrewBaron80
Yeah I've heard the "dementia" comment used by a Trump supporter completely unironically.
Morethanhappy42
His 2012 VP debate was amazing, if you're ever so inclined to watch it. Possibly one of the best debate performances I've ever seen.

While they vote for a guy with a literal golden toilet, who told them the other day four hundred million in debt isn't that much money. The fucking irony.

Non-American here, how this dude became president I still cannot understand

The rise of anti-intellectualism in the U.S. is stunning, but not entirely surprising. Conservatives have been working to destroy the education system for decades.
Just a few weeks ago my parents said they regret sending me to a "liberal brainwashing institution." Referring to college. Makes me afraid for how they may try to influence my nieces (or eventually my kids).

Anti-intellectualism isn’t really rising as much as the veil is being dropped. This country has been engineering its people into empty headed consumers for a long time.
Buy everything, believe anything, scream at anyone that tries to stop you and kill everyone that has what you want. American.

Which says more about the american population than donald trump. Most people I know will never want to visit the US, it's a shithole.

Yea. I love in southern michigan and everone here listens to the mask mandate, but I still want to move to canada just because my pride as a US citizen is so badly damaged

It’s not that big of a surprise if you think about how the American people work. He’s been on TV and in popular culture for the last 30+ years. Brand recognition is more important in America than anything else. I honestly wouldn’t be that surprised if he won the election again because he’s the most recognizable name on the ballot.

Capitalism. All the wealth is being hoarded at the top and the rich have convinced the poor whites it’s the fault of people of colour and immigrants.
mcmonkey26
American here, i also cannot understand how he got elected

We have the same situation at the moment here in Australia too, sadly. :(

Yeah, what the hell would scientists know about science
