Well, the premise of the question is faulty. China is criticized by the American/Anglo controlled and influenced world, not the majority of the all encompassing world. With this correction made, why is China still going strong? Well,
* China is the best in offering the world essential goods in full spectrum. Just about anything the world needs China can supply in the most reasonable cost to the quality scale. Short of specialized items China can supply. There are simply no competitor can match in cost, volume, and breadth.
* Very efficient government. We have seen countless examples of achievements in the last few decades that are unprecedented anywhere, such as:
* Building huge cities out of rural land, pinnacle of which is Shenzhen, but there are many more top cities that rivals the best in the world

This was when China opened up to the West to obtain its technology and requested investment and assistance in converting to a Capitalist market system.
